AKURAT DL3120 LED ILLUMINATOR REPORTER KIT
This 30 × 30 cm aluminium illuminator is equipped with two sets of highly efficient high-CRI SMD (surface-mounted) LEDs. Such a design, combined with a microprocessor-based controller, provides brightness and colour temperature adjustment capabilities, three memory banks for user settings, battery state readout function and low-battery state indication.
The studio kit includes a panel complete with a mains power supply and, optionally, a DMX512 decoder. The reporting kit includes – apart from the mains power supply – a panel equipped with seats for camera battery operation, a bag for safe handling of the panel along with its accessories, and a head that enables to fix the light at any angle.

The device creates a very strong and wide beam of high-quality soft light, completely free from the flickering effect. A light beam angle of 120 degrees allows to cover relatively large areas from a small distance.
DL3120 allows to adjust light output practically without affecting colour temperature. It is a tool perfect for use both in outdoor filming locations and in the studio. The optional DMX512 controller enables to control the light remotely in television studios or when the light is hard to reach. In the back of the device there is a control panel consisting of buttons, a display for indicating current per cent brightness setting and current colour temperature expressed in kelvins, and diodes signalling the operation mode.
The non-volatile controller memory retains three panel presets that include brightness and colour temperature settings. Calling the presets from individual memory units is done by pressing the related memory buttons; storing a preset requires holding the chosen button pressed for a while. Indicators found next to the buttons signal the use of memory. The non-volatile memory is also used by the controller to save the current state of the device and restore it upon switching the light back on with a button or following a power supply failure.
The unique functionality of DL3120 comes from the ability to power the device using common and inexpensive 7.4 V camera batteries. The light requires two batteries of that type, and such a supply allows it to operate at full power for up to 90 minutes. There are various battery adapters available that enable to adapt DL3120 to camera batteries offered by all the leading manufacturers thereof. That includes adapters for powering the light from large camcorders with a V-Mount or a Gold Mount bracket. The controller is equipped with a battery state tester. Voltage is indicated with an accuracy of 0.1 V. The device signals low battery by flashing indicators.
DL3120 is equipped with a fixing yoke made from aluminium profiles. The yoke enables to orientate the light in two axes. The light can be fixed in the vertical axis with convenient adjustable levers, while fixing to a tripod or in the horizontal axis is done by means of a standard female 5/8” adapter. One accessory useful for tripod mounting is an adjustable head that enables to position the yoke at any angle. It is also possible to equip the head with a diffuser umbrella.
